Can social media be used effectively in business?

'Social Media in the workplace? Sounds like an avoidance method... just get down to business' Many people have the view that Facebook and other social media platforms are purely for personal use, for the mother to upload adorable pictures of her son, the teenager to document his wild partying lifestyle, the family to report a move to Sydney, but here at Explosive Learning Solutions we're hitching onto the bandwagon of another idea.

Facebook adds over 15 billion to the European Economy, its a household name, and phrases coined by the site are recognizable across the world. So why not use this tool as a market weapon? As the site reads 'It's free and always will be', its giving itself away, and all you need to do is create a username and password and start connecting.

Video blogging such as sites like YouTube allow a new dimension in marketing. You can add a video demo of new software (ahem.. check out http://www.youtube.com/user/ExplosiveLS). Or to link relevant exhibition and seminars videos to other team members on a project.

Skype in this global business world we live and work in, any form of communication is necessary. Video conferencing is the way to go if colleagues are the other side of the world.

So there you have it, we think social media is great! Hence the reason we have set up this blog, do subscribe for more articles on training we provide and other insights on life we experience here.
